Inheriting firearms is stressful enough without it becoming a second job. If you're in Lone Tree — juggling work, family, and now a gun safe full of someone else's collection — you don't have time to research Colorado transfer law, figure out what everything's worth, and find buyers one by one. You shouldn't have to. That's the whole point of Gun Legacy.

I'm a licensed FFL holder based in nearby Parker. I work with Lone Tree families from RidgeGate to the neighborhoods around Park Meadows, and my service is built for people who need this handled completely and correctly, without it eating their calendar.

One Call Covers Everything

Here's what "handled" looks like. You contact me for a free consultation — call (720) 998-4776 or email info@gunlegacy.com — and describe the situation. We schedule a time that works around your day; I'm by appointment, Monday through Friday, 9 to 5. From there, I take it:

First, I help you get everything secure and inventoried — make, model, serial number, photos. Then I value each firearm based on real market data, so you know exactly what you're holding before any decisions get made. If firearms need to transfer to heirs, I process the FFL transfer with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation background check, documented cleanly. If they need to be sold, I consign them: I list, market, and sell each firearm on the open market for a 20 percent commission, and you receive roughly 80 percent of the sale price.

Why Not Just Take Them to a Shop?

Speed is the only reason. A gun shop pays cash the same day — but typically 20 to 30 percent of a firearm's actual value. On a $1,000 gun, that's $200 to $300 in your pocket versus about $800 through my consignment. If your schedule is the constraint, I respect that — but let me show you the math before you decide, because most families don't realize how wide the gap is until someone lays it out.

Current Law, Handled

Colorado requires private transfers through an FFL with a background check, and since August 1, 2026, SB25-003 adds an eligibility-card and safety-course requirement for buyers of specified semiautomatic firearms. Transfers to licensed dealers and to heirs are exempt. You don't need to master any of this — I navigate it for you on every transaction. This is general information about Colorado law, not legal advice.

If you're in Lone Tree with firearms to sort out and no time to become an expert, that's exactly who I built this for. Call (720) 998-4776 or email info@gunlegacy.com for a free consultation. No pressure, no obligation — just a clear plan.
